Attorney W. P. Colin Smith Jr. of SmithMcNeill PC in Boston brings pragmatic sophistication to his practice. Colin credits his early experience in his family's Blacksmith Shop Restaurant in Rockport and the Easterly Inn in Gloucester, Massachusetts, for his practical and perceptive understanding of his client's affairs.He graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover, earned his bachelor's degree from Boston University, where he was captain of the ski team and a letter winner in sailing. He completed his J.D. at the Boston University School of Law, cum laude. Following law school, he served with VISTA in Missoula, Montana, and on the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation.

Colin was a law clerk on the United States Circuit Court for the District of Columbia. After clerking, he was an associate at the Boston law firm Nutter, McClennen and Fish in the litigation department, where his mentors included noted trial lawyers whose credentials included president of the American Bar Association, president of the Boston Bar Association, assistant United States attorneys, first assistant attorney general, three superior associate justices and a noted chief justice of the Superior Court.Colin served as a full professor at the New England School of Law for more than 25 years and taught graduate-level courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During his years of teaching, he practiced as of counsel to Bradley, Barry & Tarlow in Boston and practiced at The Egan Building in Gloucester. As a result, Colin has established strong relationships in the legal profession, business, academic institutions and government.Joining Colin is Bruce G. McNeill, of counsel to the office. Bruce is a graduate of Northeastern University in accounting and Harvard Law School. He served as a junior officer in cryptography in the United States Army. As a young lawyer, he was an associate at Gadsby Hannah and an assistant attorney general. Bruce has been an active practitioner at Bradley, Barry & Tarlow.
